I’m a native Vermonter who has always loved antiques, design and everything vintage. My interests we largely latent for many years as I was a VERY busy working single mother. My intelligent and beautiful daughter, Hunter, was a three sport varsity athlete, competed regularly in equestrian events and was (is!) an avid hunter and fisher. Keeping up with her, while working full-time and taking care of my home and big yard and gardens consumed all my time and attention for many years.
Then, six years ago my life changed dramatically. Shortly after my daughter left for college I fell in love with my soulmate. Alan, who is now my husband, is an incredible partner in every sense of the word. He brings joy and love into my life, and is wonderful with all things house- and yard-related, but he also actively nurtures, encourages and supports my creative endeavors. He truly wants me to live my best life and do all the things I’ve always wanted to do. And best of all, not only is he my biggest cheerleader, he is ready, willing and able to be my assistant-extraordinaire!
With Alan’s support and encouragement I began redecorating our home and rediscovered my love for design and vintage treasures. Our log home has become an ever-evolving eclectic design project and our pride and joy.
A few years later my daughter found Jimmy, the love of her life, and, in due course, they became engaged. Hunter and Jimmy asked me to serve as their wedding stylist and that lead to a new passion; the hunt - through antique shops, thrift stores, flea markets and on-line - for the perfect complement of event furniture, dinnerware, lighting, and decorative flourishes.
Hunter and Jimmy’s wedding was beautiful and we were flooded with compliments and even made a marked impression on our very accomplished wedding photographer, who subsequently invited me to participate in a styled shoot and encouraged me to start a business. Doing so involved a HUGE leap of faith, but with Alan’s steadfast support and encouragement I took a deep breathe, and took that leap!
